OUR STORY

Arsu Cake Studio is more than a bakery—it’s a story of resilience, passion, and determination. Founded by Arathi Subin, the brand emerged from hardship, proving that with perseverance, no dream is out of reach. Despite criticism and rejection from relatives, Arathi transformed challenges into opportunities, inspiring women to defy societal norms.
Unlike many who sought secure jobs, Arathi aspired to be a job creator. Pressured into PSC coaching, she instead pursued baking during the COVID-19 lockdown. Selling her only silver anklet, she launched Arsu Cakes from home on June 2, 2020, at age 26, with no financial support. Struggling for basic supplies, she worked tirelessly, often skipping meals and sleep. The strain led to hospitalization, but with support from her husband and brother-in-law, she honed her skills, mastering designer cakes through online classes.
As demand grew, she took small loans and worked nights to expand beyond home baking. Offered a secure government job, she boldly chose passion over stability, renting a shop in Anchal Mukada Junction in January 2021 to officially launch Arsu Cakes. Even pregnancy didn’t slow her—she baked until the day before delivery. Postpartum, another lockdown forced her to shut the store, but she resumed baking at home, balancing a newborn in one arm and decorating cakes with the other. Opposition from family left her with no home, but she moved into a rented space, dedicating one room to her business.
For a year, she managed her baby, home, and business alone. Her perseverance paid off—by September 2022, she saved enough to open a larger Arsu Cake Studio at Anchal Ambalamukku Junction. Initially the sole cake artist, she later built a team, introducing trending international desserts and gaining social media traction. With a commitment to high-quality, preservative-free fresh cream cakes, Arsu stood out for its affordability, 30-minute live cake-making, and unique desserts. Success led to new branches: Punalur (December 2023), Anchal expansion (December 2023), and Karavaloor (December 2024).
Beyond business, Arsu actively gives back. Through the Nanma Foundation, it supports sports, education, and charity, including the ‘Sneha Sparsham’ initiative, providing free birthday cakes to orphaned children.
